Robert R .(Kloss) Klosowski, 79, of LaPorte, died Monday evening in his home surrounded by his loving family.

   He was born Friday, March 21, 1930, in LaPorte, son of Bernard Klosowski and Anna (Picora) Klosowski.

   Robert had worked as manager of Wonderland Department Store for nine years and had retired from the Index Supply Company in 1990; then he worked for the Town Crier. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus St. Michael Council LaPorte 1542, and was a charter member and past vice president of Big Brothers of LaPorte. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was involved in the LaPorte Little Theater Club, and was a volunteer at LaPorte County Public Library.

   On Oct. 21, 1950, in Chicago, he married Ann Gagliano, who preceded him in death May 12, 1982. He then married Barbara Mansfield Euler on July 16, 1988; she survives.

   Also surviving are son, Steven Klosowski; daughter; Simpson O’Brien of LaPorte; stepdaughter; Carol McMahon of Kingsbury; stepsons, David Euler of LaPorte and Edward Euler of Michigan City, IN; two grandsons; seven step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.

   Friends will be received at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Thursday, June 11, from 3 to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, June 12, at 12:30 p.m., with a time of visitation from 11:30 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, LaPorte, with full military rites by LaPorte Honor Guard.
