Jennie Meyer, 88, of New Carlisle, IN, died in her sleep on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Miller’s Merry Manor, New Carlisle.
Jennie was born Nov. 21, 1920, In New Carlisle to Benoi and Hortense (Geers) Blendeman. She was a lifelong resident of New Carlisle.
Jennie worked at RACO for 38 years. She also owned Meyer’s Village Restaurant and was involved with New Carlisle’s Historical Days for 33 years. Jennie had a booth at numerous festivals and flea markets and she enjoyed talking and meeting new people. She was a great cook and an avid bowler. She enjoyed bingo and playing bunco and Uno with her grandsons. She loved her grandsons with all her heart.
On March 3, 1950, in New Carlisle, she married Dermot Meyer, who survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Kimberly (Mark) Knowlton, and her two grandsons, who were the loves of her life, Sam and Evan Knowlton, all of New Carlisle.
Cremation will take place. Per Jennie’s adamant wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service. She will be greatly missed.
