Mrs. Patricia D. Yaeger, 85, of LaPorte, died at 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at LaPorte Hospital.
She was born July 1, 1924, in Rochester, NY, to David and Josephine (Wray) Deegan.
Mrs. Yaeger was a director for the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), Ulster County, NY. She was also Involved in the theater arts and very active with the American Cancer Society as a counselor. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaPorte.
On March 3, 1944, in Los Angeles, CA, she married Walter P. Yaeger, who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2006.
She leaves behind one son, Scott (Deborah) Yaeger of LaPorte; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Deegan of Rochester, NY; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Deegan.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaPorte, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. There will be no visitation. Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
