The LaPorte High School Marching Band is advancing to Regional after receiving a Gold Division Rating at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) District Marching Band Contest Oct. 3 at Penn High School.
It was the 22nd consecutive year for the LPHS band to reach the regional contest. All bands receiving a Gold Division Rating advance to the regional.
The following Class A bands advanced from the Penn District site:

Portage
Warsaw
Elkhart Central
Elkhart Memorial
Lake Central
The ISSMA Northern Regional Contest for Class A and C will be held Oct. 17 at Chesterton High School, with LaPorte performing at 6:32 p.m. The top 10 scoring bands in each class at each regional site will advance to the Semistate Contest. Semistate for Class A will be held Oct. 24 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, with the State Finals to be held Oct. 31 in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, the band will perform at 4:40 p.m. EST at the Homestead High School Invitational in Fort Wayne.
