Mr. John Trojanowski, 66, of Rolling Prairie, IN, died peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at his home with his family at his side after an 18-month struggle with brain cancer.
He was born Aug. 23, 1943, in LaPorte, the son of Stanley and Alene (Cook) Trojanowski.
John worked as a journeyman electrician for Local 531 IBEW for 38 years, retiring in 2006. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved refurbishing old cars and attending antique car shows. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed shooting. John enjoyed spending time remodeling his children’s houses, playing cards, watching movies and enjoyed researching and reading, especially the consumer reports.
On Dec. 23, 1966, in LaPorte, he married Cecelia Krzyzak, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa Woodson and Tina Trojanowski, both of LaPorte; son, Todd Trojanowski of LaPorte; three grandchildren, Ashley Woodson, A.J. Woodson and Olivia Trojanowski, all of LaPorte; sister, Karen Caruso of LaPorte; and two brothers, Harry (Rosie) Trojanowski of LaPorte and Jan (Connie) Trojanowski of Rolling Prairie.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 1 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Jay Loucks officiating. Cremation has taken place.
