A cocktail ring with a large gem such as this is a great conversation starter at holiday parties. By Erin Sass.
The holiday season is here and signs of Christmas are all around. The houses begin to sparkle and the halls are decked with glitzy decorations. Glitz and glamour is the theme of season and invitations are pouring in for fun cocktail parties and cheerful holiday gatherings.
These parties are sure to be fun places to reconnect with friends and spend time with family. But then comes the question that crosses the minds of many women:
“What do I wear?”

The LBD -- little black dress -- gets a new kick this holiday season with a long statement necklace. By Erin Sass.
This Christmas brings new and exciting trends in holiday wear. A holiday staple that every girl must own is a bright-colored piece of clothing. The trendy hues are traditional reds, fiery oranges, electric blues, vibrant greens and royal violets. With a pop of these cheery colors an ensemble will be complete and incredibly chic.
For a more formal affair, dresses are the perfect fit. A dress can be very versatile and the right one can complement any body type. Of course, the classic little black dress (LBD) will be debuting at many fun and elegant events this Christmas season. The classic black dress can be the perfect ensemble, but one can take a few steps and update the look.
First, with a simple LBD, add a trend-conscious statement necklace — either a large necklace with vibrant-colored gems or a longer necklace that will elongate the body. Second, add tights, preferably opaque black tights; these will elongate and slim the legs. Lastly, add an ankle boot, or even a peep-toe heel to add an edgy spice to the look.
Another fun and festive way to shine during this holiday season is to wear sequins or embellished pieces. Sequins can be found on anything from dresses to shirts to hair accessories. A sequined dress will definitely make an entrance at any event, but adding a few sequin accessories can add glitz to any ensemble.
Finally, accessories this season are large, and the more sparkle and shine the better! This season statement jewelry is all the rage; more delicate jewelry can be saved for another event. Big necklaces, earrings and rings can add glitz and glamour to any outfit. Large cocktail rings with bright gems and funky designs are great conversation starters.
Alright ladies, shine this holiday season! Also, although we all love the great Coco Chanel, be a rebel. Ignore her guideline to remove one piece of jewelry before leaving the house and this Christmas season, add one more glitzy piece to make an entrance! Happy Holidays!
