Mr. Darrell J. Stahoviak, 35, of Michigan City, IN, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at his home.
He was born Sept. 11, 1974, in Michigan City to Darrell M. Stahoviak and Robin A. Crozier.
Darrell was a journeyman meatcutter for over 16 years, working around the Michigan City area. He enjoyed participating in demolition derbies, fast cars, music, and cooking, especially making homemade soups and pizzas. He also enjoyed Sunday cruises in his prize possession, a 1969 Olds 442.
Surviving are his children, Krystin Paige and Araya Hope Stahoviak, both of Michigan City; his parents, Darrell M. (Julia) Stahoviak of LaPorte and Robin A. “Cross” (John) Crozier of South Bend, IN; paternal grandfather, Ronald (Rowena) Stahoviak of Michigan City; paternal grandmother, Shirley (Allen) Freels of Albion, IN; sister, Elizabeth Crozier of South Bend; stepbrothers, Matt (Kathy) Crozier and Joel (Dawn) Crozier, both of South Haven, IN; “world’s greatest uncle” Robert A. “Uncle” Cross of Michigan City; aunts Diane (Butch) Hootman of Michigan City and Donna Ransom of Morgantown, IN; special friend Sheryl Eaton of Michigan City; former spouse Jill ( Wilander) Stahoviak of Michigan City; and very special niece and nephews, Avery, Samual , Ian and Seth Campos. He also leaves behind a large host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 818 Franklin Square, Michigan City, with Pastor Tim Knauff officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service. A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. Pallbearers will be Mark Hardacker, Mike Bilek, Ricky Pawlicke Jr., Antwon Wren, Jacob Tannehill, and Samuel Campos.
