Diane E. Riffel, 72, of LaPorte, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at LaPorte Hospital.
She was born Dec. 28, 1937, in St. Joseph, MI, to Ewald and Martha (Krumrie) Woodrick.
On July 13, 1977, in New Carlisle, IN, she married David Riffel Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are seven children, Roberta (Brad) Tennis of LaPorte, Thomas (Pam) Martell of New Carlisle, Lisa (Andy) Mills of New Carlisle, Daniel Martell of New Carlisle, Anita Martell of LaPorte, Robin (John) Schroder of LaPorte, and David (Lynette) Riffel Jr. of LaPorte; two sisters, Marylin Weathers of Galien, MI, and Anita (Tom) Sinner of Baldwin, MI; one brother, Richard (Dove) Woodrick of Galien, MI; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one grandchild, Ashley Eva Mills.
A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Pastor Daniel McDonald officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
