Mrs. Gayle Lynn Steinhilber, 74, of Northbrook, IL, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park, IL.
She was born March 11, 1935, in LaPorte, the daughter of Larry and Edith (Maertz) Walters, and grew up in the LaPorte area.
Gayle worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for a family-owned business.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jamie Steinhilber of Columbia, SC, and Jean Caulfield of Prospect Heights, IL; one son, Jay Steinhilber of Gurnee, IL; three grandchildren, Nicholas Steinhilber of Gurnee and Ryan Caulfield and Megan Caulfield, both of Prospect Heights, IL.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jeffery Steinhilber.
Services will be held Monday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Ransom Ebersole officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Salem Cemetery, LaPorte.
