Miss Betty Jane Rameier, 87, of LaPorte, died peacefully on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, in LaPorte.
She was born Jan. 20, 1923, in LaPorte, the daughter of Walter and Sandra (Peterson) Rameier. She had been a lifelong resident of the LaPorte area.
Betty retired in 1977 as head bookkeeper for LaPorte Bank and Trust Co., where she worked for 35 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of LaPorte Business Girls. Betty Jane graduated from Kingsbury High School and the LaPorte Business School.
She is survived by several cousins, including Lorraine Anundson and family of Pennsylvania, and Lee and Phyllis Olson of LaPorte. She is also survived by many good friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a kindred spirit, Bob Schoof; and Aunt Effie and Uncle Ed.
Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Joseph Loftis officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, IN.
