Mr. James E. “Jim” Felton, 87, of LaPorte, died at 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Golden Living Center/Fountainview Terrace, LaPorte.

   He was born Jan. 24, 1923, in LaPorte to Walter and Myrtle (Williams) Felton.

   Mr. Felton was former owner of Felton’s Dairy. He retired from American Home Foods. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of First United Methodist Church. Jim was an avid bowler; he was inducted into the LaPorte Bowlers Hall of Fame.

   On Oct. 20, 1951, in LaPorte, he married Jean M. Rose, who preceded him in death on Dec. 5, 1989.

   He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leland Felton.

   He leaves behind one son, Thomas (Tomi) Felton of LaPorte; three daughters, Sharon (Roger) Bulkley of Cheboygan, MI, Sandra (George) Kouttoulas of LaPorte and Susan (Dave) Malone of Folsom, CA; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

   A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
