LaPorte High School debaters competed in the Northwest Indiana District Debate Tournament the weekend of Jan. 30, placing third overall.
Assisting with that placing were:
— Freshmen Nathan Gerick and Mike Kendall, 7th in Public Forum
— Juniors Patrick Abiney and Courtney Hough, 5th in Public Forum
— Senior Allison Feikes, 5th in Lincoln-Douglas
— Seniors Tom Lienhoop and Hannah Coates, 5th in Policy debate
— Sophomore Jake Burns and freshman Trenton Tanber, 6th in Policy debate
— Juniors Lauren Anderson and Rachel Osborn, National Qualifiers in Policy debate
Lauren and Rachel will travel to Kansas City, MO, to compete at the National Tournament in June.
Also competing for the Slicers at the district tourney were freshmen Meaghan Murphy, sophomores Samantha Cook and Caitlin Caum, junior Dylan Popp, junior Danny Schellinger, and senior Mariah Hamilton.
