Carol Tylisz donated three pristine women's suits from the 1940s that had belonged to her aunt, Josephine Haluck of Michigan City. One suit has a label from the dress shop -- "Russell H. Kramer, Michigan City." (CLICK ON PHOTO TO ENLARGE)

NOTE: In preparation for an upcoming display and special event at the museum, the LaPorte County Historical Society is seeking donations of dresses from prom dances and related memorabilia from any school in LaPorte County. Photographs, including portraits of prom couples, do not have to be donated, but can be copied by the museum staff while you wait.

Visitors registering at the LaPorte County Historical Society Museum during the month of January 2010 totaled 485, coming from 14 Indiana counties, three states, The Philippines and the Virgin Islands. Groups using the meeting room and touring the museum included Door Prairie Questers, the David D. Porter Camp of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, and the Michigan City Questers.
