Mrs. Mary Ellen Cummings, 67, of Chicago, died at 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 8, 2010, at Clark Manor, Chicago.
She was born April 21, 1942, in Chicago to David and Ethel (Spade) Evans.
Mrs. Cummings was an interior designer. She attended several Chicago Catholic churches. She enjoyed cooking, homemaking and entertaining.
She was married to Dr. Thomas Cummings, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her mother and her twin brother, David Evans.
She leaves behind her daughter, Sheila Cummings of Chicago; son, Bret Cummings of Oklahoma; her father, David B. Evans of LaPorte, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, LaPorte, on Thursday, March 18, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Angotti officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL, at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte.
