   The LaPorte City Police Department marked its 100th anniversary on Monday, March 1, with a daylong open house for the public. Here are some scenes from the event (click on any photo to enlarge):

   The open house was great. Glad to see so many people come to see the police station and learn more about their police dept.

   DOT & I JUST MISSED THE OPEN HOUSE BUT WISHED WE WERE THERE.

   I, JIM LOFTON,RETIRED FROM LPPD IN 1984, AND MOVED TO COLORADO THAT SAME YEAR.

   I ENJOYED MY YEARS AT LPPD AND GREW UP IN LaPORTE. I STILL MISS
   MY FRIENDS FROM THE FORCE AND MY MANY FRIENDS IN LaPORTE.

   WE HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYED THEMSELVES
   AND LEARNED MORE ABOUT TODAYS POLICE DEPT. AND THE JOB THEY ARE CALLED UPON 24/7.
