Ms. Valecia Denise Boshers, 52, of Andrews, IN, and formerly of LaPorte, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in her home.
She was born Jan. 5, 1958, in LaPorte, the daughter of Clayton “Sam” and Hilda (Sutton) Lindsey. She had lived in the LaPorte area for 12 years, coming from Tennessee.
Valecia worked as a caregiver. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. Valecia loved to cook and was an avid novel reader and nature lover. She was a people person and enjoyed her family and friends.
She is survived by her life partner, John Rule of Andrews; four sisters, Vandal (Jim) West of Belleville, MI, Candy Lindsey of Pulaski, TN, Kim (Kevin) Shaver of Palm Beach, FL, and Valerie (Jeff) Ozark of Belleville, MI; two brothers, Danny Lindsey of New Carlisle, IN, and Scott Lindsey of New Carlisle; 13 nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Valecia was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Saturday, March 6, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, IN.
