Mr. Francis Keith Heck, 76, of LaPorte, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at LaPorte Hospital.
He was born May 4, 1933, in Goodland, IN, the son of John and Marie J. (Jensen) Heck.
Francis worked for Modine Manufacturing for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Francis enjoyed gardening and talking and visiting with members of the neighborhood.
He married Patty Czech in LaPorte. He later remarried, to Violet Cauffman in LaPorte.
He is survived by his daughter, Tamra Hayman of LaPorte; granddaughter, Leah Hayman of Indianapolis; and very close friends, Robert and Rose Borst.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Floyd Heck, and sister, Lois Komp.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Thursday, March 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the LaPorte County Animal Shelter, 2855 W. Ind. 2, LaPorte, IN 46350.
