Mrs. Patricia B. “Patsy” Luther, 60, of LaPorte, died at 2:35 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010, at LaPorte Hospital.
She was born Aug. 20, 1949, in LaPorte to Leo and Margaret (Anders) Pappas.
Mrs. Luther was a social worker for the Indiana Division of Family and Children for 28 years. She was a LaPorte High School graduate, and received her B.A. from Purdue University. She was a former board of directors member of the Park Preschool Program and an LPHS class reunion committee member. She was devoted to her five grandchildren.
She leaves behind one daughter, Robin (Pat) Kubit of LaPorte; one son, Erik (Kathy) Luther of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Blaine and Kasey Kubit and Zach, Reece and Brooklyn Luther; one brother, John (Billie) Pappas of LaPorte; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 11, at 10 a.m. at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 10, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, on Thursday following the service.
