Darrell C. Hale, 56, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 11 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, in his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1954, in Logan, IA, to Darrell and Bonita (Teager) Hale, and had been a resident of LaPorte for the past 30 years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, yard work and attended the Church of the Nazarene in LaPorte. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed.
On Feb. 10, 1973, in Logan, he married Amy (McConnell) Hale, who survives.
Also surviving are his two daughters, Edith Hale and Keri Hale, both of LaPorte; one sister, Beverly Straight of LaPorte; two grandchildren, Caden and Brady Hale; four nieces, Theresa Proud, Debbie Mueller, Kristine Lawson and Wendy Ogle; and one nephew, Scott Straight.
A funeral service honoring his life will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Pastor Dan McDonald officiating. Visitation and viewing will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Cremation will take place following services.
