The evening was perfect on Friday, July 2, 2010, as Friday Night at the Movies in downtown LaPorte presented “The Blind Side.” The outdoor movies are projected by computer onto the side of the Suds on State laundromat building on State Street near Monroe Street, and folks gather in the parking lot there for a fun, free evening of entertainment.
One showing remains in the 2010 Friday Night at the Movies series: “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” on Aug. 6.

Low-tech yet ingenious: Tom Milo holds the ladder for one of LaPorte's firefighters as he covers a streetlight before the movie starts.

Billie and John Pappas, owners of B&J's Cafe, at their busy food concession.

Sharon Kirkham and Fran Milo share a laugh.

Boy Scouts manned the games in addition to passing out free popcorn provided by LaPorte Savings Bank, and LaPorte-made American Licorice candy.
