Justin Knoll and Tommy Thomasino are the 2010 recipients of scholarships from the LaPorte County Fair Board.

Justin Knoll

Justin

   Justin, the son of Ron and Ruth Knoll of LaPorte, received the $1,000 Robert M. Morse Memorial Scholarship. Justin is a 10-year 4-H member of the Springfield Country Cousins 4-H Club. He has taken Dog, Cat, Poultry, Rabbit, Gardening, Arts & Crafts, Vet Science, and Junior Leader projects while in 4-H. He has been the treasurer and recreation leader of his local 4-H club as well as treasurer, vice president, secretary and president of the county Dog Club and Junior Leader Club. He has participated in several community service projects through his 4-H clubs, as well as many 4-H workshops. He has participated at the state fair with his gardening, dogs and flowers projects and has been a county 4-H camp counselor. Justin plans to attend Purdue North Central in the fall to study veterinary medicine.

Tommy Thomasino

Tommy

   Tommy, the son of Thomas and Cathy Thomasino of LaPorte, received the Louis M. Daube Memorial Scholarship. Tommy is a 10-year member of the Pleasant Pals 4-H Club. He has taken over 145 4-H projects throughout his career, including Aerospace, Electric, Floriculture, Goats, Photography, Rabbits, Sheep Junior Leader, etc. He has been the club recreation leader, health & safety leader, vice president and treasurer, as well as an officer for the Junior Leader Club and the Electric Club. He has attended the State Junior Leader Conference, State Electric Camp, Citizenship Washington Focus, Computer Science Workshop and State Electric Camp. Tommy plans to attend Purdue North Central to pursue a career in arts and media management.
