LaPorte Regional Health System plans to open a medical facility in New Buffalo, MI.

   LaPorte Regional Physician Network physicians will practice at the facility, which is expected to include services such as a walk-in clinic to provide convenient care, comprehensive cardiology services and family care by appointment.

   “LaPorte Regional Health System is excited to expand our mission into new service areas for the residents of Harbor Country. We hope residents will greatly benefit from the convenience of high-quality services offered through the physicians of La Porte Regional Physician Network, close to home,” said G. Thor Thordarson, president/CEO of LRHS.

   The facility, located at 30 W. Buffalo St., is being remodeled. The 2,400-square-foot building, formerly a real estate office, is being redesigned to meet the medical needs of the community.

   Services will be available to the public by late summer or early fall 2010.
