A rural LaPorte man was arrested Aug. 3, 2010, for his alleged involvement in several recent thefts.
Jason Robb, 31, was found to be in possession of a number of items that had been reported stolen within the last week.
Shortly after midnight on Aug. 3, La Porte County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3700 west block of Waverly Road, LaPorte, where a homeowner said a detached garage had been burglarized and a Chevrolet Trail Blazer was missing from the driveway. The vehicle was equipped with an anti-theft tracking device and deputies notified the company about the missing vehicle.
At about 6:53 a.m., the sheriff’s office was notified that the vehicle had been tracked to the 1200 west block of County Road 650 North, LaPorte. Deputies found the Trail Blazer parked at a private residence.
A boat and trailer were also found on the property that had been reported stolen on July 28, 2010, from Indiana Estates subdivision. Located nearby was a red Jeep Cherokee that had towed the boat and trailer away.
Robb was soon taken into custody and charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property. He was released from LaPorte County Jail later on Aug. 3 after posting bond. He was scheduled to appear in LaPorte Superior Court 4.
