The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from the public about a major fire that occurred at a vacant home in the 3600 South block of County Road 300 East.
Pleasant Township firefighters were summoned to the house on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at about 8 p.m. the home was engulfed in flames. Lincoln, Scipio and Washington Township fire departments were called in to help extinguish the blaze.
Sheriff’s office Fire Investigator Michael Raymer and an investigator from the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office determined that someone started the fire, either intentionally or accidentally. The home had been vacant for some time and had no electrical or gas service.
