Frank A. Hartsaw Sr., 89, of LaPorte, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.
He was born June 6, 1921, in Cloverdale, IN, the son of Jesse and Esther (McKee) Hartsaw.
In 1954 Frank established and owned the East Lincolnway Mobile Home Court. He also worked at Soetje Ford for 11 years and in 1960 he started to work at LaPorte Auto Supply, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed camping and working on cars.
On May 6, 1943, in Bloomington, IN, he married Wanda Summitt Hartsaw, who preceded him in death Nov. 7, 2004.
Also preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Catherine Hartsaw.
He is survived by his daughter, Darilyn (Don) Lowery of New Carlisle, IN; son, Frank “Jr” (Stacie) Hartsaw Jr. of Fish Lake, IN; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Tuesday, Aug. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
