La Lumiere School is celebrating record enrollment for a fifth consecutive year. La Lumiere welcomed over 200 students accompanied by their families to campus on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, for registration.

Returning students viewed the improvements made to campus over the summer. During the summer months, a new administration building was built and a new wood floor was installed in Marsch Gymnasium.

Enrollment at La Lumiere has increased by 30 percent in the past three years. During the same time frame the school constructed a 7,200-square-foot science building, added a new fitness center, addressed campus-wide technology issues, constructed new town homes for faculty housing, improved the gymnasium, renovated and restored its dining facility, and built a new softball field.

La Lumiere’s student body is comprised of a diverse group of day and boarding students. Day students come from as far away as South Bend, Granger, Schererville, Munster and Valparaiso, while boarding students come to La Lumiere from 12 countries and seven states. Countries represented among the current student body include Canada, China, Columbia, Croatia, Honduras, Iran, Mexico, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Sudan, and Vietnam, while domestic boarders hail from Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas.

La Lumiere is a coeducational lay Catholic boarding and day school with an enrollment of over 200 students that provides a comprehensive college preparatory education. It seeks to develop character, scholarship and faith, while remaining both independently accredited and faithful to its Catholic heritage. More information can be found at http://www.lalumiere.org/.
