James A. Krieger, 71, of Michigan City, IN, died peacefully at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Life Care Center of Michigan City.
He was born June 2, 1939, in Gary, IN, to Emma (Phillips) Krieger.
On Sept. 13, 1975, in Union Pier, MI, he married Diana Jackson Krieger, who survives in LaPorte.
Also surviving are one daughter, Marie Krieger of Valparaiso, IN; four sons, Dwayne Stantz, Ronald Stantz and Brian Stantz, all of LaPorte, and Shawn (Melissia) Stantz of New Carlisle, IN; one sister, Mary Jo Dziadosz; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Rev. Ron Devenport officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the service. Cremation will take place following the service.
