1. Firefighters extricate driver after 2-car crash in LP

   

   A LaPorte City firefighter uses a cutting tool to remove the roof of a vehicle so the driver could be freed.

      A two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of 6th and D streets in LaPorte on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 1, 2010. One driver was transported to LaPorte Hospital with non-life-thretening injuries. The other vehicle was stopped several block away by LaPorte City Police.

   

   LaPorte City firefighters use an ax to remove the windshield of a vehicle as they work to extricate the driver.

   

   The driver is wheeled to an ambulance after being freed. (NOTE: The face of the driver has been blurred in this photo.)
