WNDU reported on the vandalism that hit LaPorte’s Ben Rees Park on a recent weekend. Not only is it happening there, but on Webber and Greenway streets as well. A few people have had their cars broken into and when the vandals can’t find anything, they go for the house. One home was broken into and had a bunch of stuff stolen in the early morning hours.
The word needs to get out that people need to lock their doors (cars and homes), take all valuables out of cars, and be on the lookout.

Whether you prefer to lock your cars doors or not, the key is to NOT leave valuables in view. Hot items to steal right now are GPS units, stereos, I-Pods, cell phones, guns and change/ cash.

I have had stuff taken out of my car twice. In the six years I have lived near Clark Park I have left my car unlocked twice by accident. Both times I have had items taken. Would love to catch the little jerks in the act.
