The LaPorte High School Marching Band received a Gold Division Rating at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) District Marching Band Contest Oct. 2, 2010, at Concord High School. It was the 23rd consecutive year that the band reached the regional contest.
All bands receiving a Gold Division Rating advanced to the regional contest. The following Class A bands advanced from the Penn District site: LaPorte, Chesterton, Penn, Elkhart Central, Elkhart Memorial, Lake Central.
The ISSMA Northern Regional Contest for Class A and C will be held Oct. 16 at Lafayette Jefferson High School, with LaPorte performing at 8:45 p.m. EST. The top 10 scoring bands in each class at each regional site will advance to the semistate contest. Semistate for Class A will be Oct. 23 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, and the state finals will be Oct. 30 in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Saturday, Oct. 9, the band will perform at 8:15 p.m. EST at the Lakeshore High School Invitational in Stevensville, MI.
