The LaPorte High School Marching Band received a Gold Division Rating at regionals on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, and advances to the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Semistate. The ISSMA Regional Contest was held at Lafayette Jefferson High School.
The top 10 scoring bands at the northern regional will meet the top 10 scoring bands from the south regional on Oct. 23 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. The top 10 scoring bands from the semistate will then advance to the ISSMA State Finals, to be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Oct. 30.
The following bands will compete at the ISSMA Class A Semistate: Avon, Warren Central, Ben Davis, Center Grove, Franklin Central, Lawrence Central, Brownsburg, Northrop, Fishers, Homestead, Snider, Columbus North, Lafayette Jefferson, Carroll, Elkhart Central, Castle, Lake Central, Penn, Elkhart Memorial, and LaPorte. The contest begins at 1 p.m. EST with LaPorte performing at 5:59 p.m. EST. Complete schedules are available at www.issma.net.
The LaPorte Marching Band was an ISSMA State Finalist in 1991, 2004, 2005 and 2007.
