The last week of October 2010, some New Prairie Junior High students spent their two-day vacation raking leaves for senior citizens in Rolling Prairie and New Carlisle. There are absolutely no words to express our thanks.
We live on one of the back streets of Rolling Prairie, platted by a Mr. Walker, who laid out the town and then proceeded to plant maple trees along the main street and two side streets. They are now very large and were often the subject of pictures for local photographers. Although many of the original trees are gone — and some are suffering disease — there are still many beautiful reminders of fall and they fill yards around the town.
We made a huge pan of caramel popcorn for the kids. It was like watching a horde of insects. Small pay for such a huge job!
