The LaPorte High School Winter Color Guard competed in the prelims of the Winter Guard International World Championships in Dayton, OH, on April 7, 8 and 9, 2011.
Twenty-four guards advanced from the Wright State University Nutter Center site to the semifinals in the Scholastic A Class. LaPorte finished 32nd out of 49 guards.
The LaPorte guard had just completed an undefeated season and won its seventh Midwest Color Guard Circuit Championship.
Auditions for the fall LPHS Marching Band Color Guard will be held in early May. Interested students should pick up information from the band room or main office in late April prior to auditions.
