1. Slicers tune up with scrimmage

   With the high school football season opening game just a week away, the LaPorte Slicers traveled to Logansport for a preseason scrimmage Friday evening, Aug. 12, 2011.

   The Slicers will open the season at home against their cross-county rival New Prairie on Friday, Aug. 19, at 7:30 p.m.

   A new addition to LaPorte’s schedule this year is South Bend Clay; the game will be played in South Bend on week two of the season.
