In an exciting yet see-saw weekend of wins and losses for LaPorte basketball, the Slicers girls team won 60-45 in Duneland Conference action Friday night, Dec. 2, 2011, on the road against Crown Point. The Slicer boys team dropped its Duneland Conference opener at home against the Bulldogs, 53-49.
In hoops action Saturday night, Dec. 3, the Slicer girls, playing host to South Bend Clay, defeated the Colonials 56-37. Living up the hype of a cross-county rivalry, the New Prairie Cougars boys team defeated the Slicers, 61-56.
The Slicer girls will host Merrillville Friday, Dec. 9, while the boys team travels to Merrillville the same night. The New Prairie Cougars will play at North Judson on Saturday, Dec. 10.
