Boss Lion Tom Ruda said Lions International sent the LaPorte Lions and the LaPorte High School Leo Club five-year patches.
Ralph F. Howes introduced Liz Bernel and Melissa Benefiel from Purdue North Central, who talked about the American Veterans Traveling Tribute, which includes a miniature Vietnam Memorial Wall, which will be at the PNC campus July 3-7, 2012.
Provan read the minutes of the Dec. 12 board meeting. Ruda said he had met with Maggi Spartz of the Unity Foundation, who said the foundation would be happy to accept the $5,000 the club is donating for planning costs for the property at 1010 Pine Lake Ave.
Oscar Ryl-Kuchar, Ralph E. Howes and George Royster volunteered to be on the scholarship committee. Bill Burkhart said a member is now a resident at Fountainview Terrace.
Tailtwisters John Straub and Burkhart brought in $8; Lion Tamer Royster netted $9.
The next regular meeting will be Jan. 16.
