A house fire in Noble Township on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, is suspected to be arson following a burglary.
At about 5:30 p.m., Noble Township volunteer firefighters and LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to a reported house fire in the 7500 South block of County Road 800 West.
Investigations and witnesses’ statements led investigators to determine that the home and two outbuildings had been burglarized and that the fire was intentionally set. The home’s owners were out of town at the time of the fire, but they are in contact with investigators.
