The LaPorte Police Department has launched its official Facebook page.
“Due to the increase in popularity of social media outlets, the LaPorte Police Department recognizes the invaluable benefit and outreach that Facebook can provide,” a 
department press release stated. “The Facebook page can be used to share important departmental information, employment vacancies and application information, safety and traffic alerts, and wanted person information, and provide helpful crime-prevention tips to citizens.”
