Town and Country Extension Homemakers met Jan. 12, 2012, at Settlers House Assisted Living for lunch. President Sandra Provan opened the meeting with the homemakers creed and Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary Adeline Macalka called roll by asking what members do to beat the winter blahs. She read the minutes of the November meeting, which were approved as amended. Shirley Reinfurth gave the treasurer’s report, which was approved. Betty Thomas said she received a thank-you from Salem Chapel Food Pantry for the donation raised at the December meeting auction.
Thomas said at the Project Day Jan. 9, extension homemakers made quilts for Riley Childrens Hospital.
Provan gave the lesson on foot care.

– Jan. 26: open house at the new Extension Service building, 2 to 6 p.m.
– Jan. 30: nominating committee, all club presidents, at the extension office, 10 a.m.
– Feb. 13: Project Day at Settlers House, 9:30 a.m.
– Feb. 21: program planning, all vice presidents, at the extension office, 10 a.m.
– March 20: lesson retreat, at the extension office, 3-7 p.m.
– April 21: International Fare.
The next meeting will be Feb. 9 at 12:30 p.m. at LaPorte County Historical Society Museum, when club officers for 2012-13 will be elected.
