Chlorine B. Weaver, 93, of Statesville, NC, and formerly of LaPorte, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012.
She was born May 22, 1918, in Hinton, West Virginia, to Marvin and Mabel (Allen) Buckland.
Chlorine was owner/manager of Springville Truck Stop from 1960-1968.
On Dec. 25, 1953, in Chicago, she married Everette Weaver, who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1978.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Orval Buckland, her daughter Mabel Ruth Schmidt, and her son Theodore Meadows.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters, Ronald Buckland of LaPorte, Clinton Buckland of Michigan City, IN, James Buckland of Beckley, WVA, Juanita Morgan of Oaklawn, IL, and Leeoma Ormiston of Statesville; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, LaPorte. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow the service in Springville Cemetery, LaPorte County.
