Chris was one of those people you were privileged to know and he will be missed by so many. I’m not sure I ever saw him without a smile and he was a kind and gentle person who was so involved in the community. Chris, rest in peace, you will be missed.

Chris was a role model to all the YMCA campers who called him “Shaky” but he was also a role model to me. Chris was my lifeguard instructor in 2008 and later helped me land two summer jobs at the LaPorte YMCA. I am so grateful for the opportunities and experiences that wouldn’t have been possible without his help. You will be so missed.
