Eleanor K. Vance, 79, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Golden Living Center, LaPorte.

She was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Harvey, IL, to George and Anna (Wojtowicz) Vance.

Mrs. Vance was a homemaker who enjoyed being outside, gardening, flowers and most importantly spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Kubit and Danny Kubit, both of LaPorte; three grandchildren, Mitchell Kubit of Detroit, MI, Linda (John) Goodman of LaPorte and Kristen Kubit of Michigan City, IN; her companion, Charles Schoff of LaPorte; one sister, Bernice Seeberger of Casa Grande, AZ; and one sister-in-law, Diane Bulanda of Lowell, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.

A private family memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 11. Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
