A LaPorte man who was wanted on a charge of dealing cocaine was arrested Friday, Feb. 3, 2012.

LaPorte County Metro Operations, in conjunction with the Michigan City Police Department Street Crimes Unit, arrested Anthony Flores, 26, of 605 Fremont St. He is charged with dealing cocaine, a Class A felony.

Flores was taken into custody at his home without incident, according to a press release. The arrest came after a month-long investigation into cocaine dealing in the county.

“This investigation was initiated and coordinated by the county’s Metro Operations Unit and they brought in the resources and manpower necessary to bring this suspect to justice,” Sheriff Mike Mollenhauer said in the press release. “This arrest once again demonstrates that LaPorte County law enforcement has teamed to battle the drug problems that plague LaPorte County.”

LaPorte County Metro Operations is a multi-jurisdictional unit comprised of investigators from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office and LaPorte Police Department. The public is encouraged to report suspected drug activity to the unit at (219) 325-9022.
