State and county officials reconstruct the accident scene following the fatal crash.

A husband and wife were killed when the motorcycle on which they were riding collided with an SUV on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at about 1 p.m. near Rolling Prairie.

The two were identified as Terence Blake, 54, and Linda Blake, 56, of Scott Street.

The crash occurred at County Road 300 East and Ind. 2. The motorcycle was traveling west on Ind. 2. The SUV’s occupants were not injured.

Both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of Ind. 2 were closed for three hours while the crash was investigated. Besides LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office units, members of the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team, a multi-agency unit, were at the site reconstructing the crash. Kankakee Township firefighters, LaPorte County EMS and Indiana Department of Transportation workers assisted.
