LaPorte Police are looking for Robert J. Coldiron, who is wanted on a charge of fraud, a Class D felony.
Coldiron, approximately 32, is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 143 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

UPDATE: Ava Strieter, who was listed as a wanted person of the week, was recently arrested after police received a tip from a citizen on her whereabouts.

A LaPorte man who was wanted on a charge of dealing cocaine was arrested Friday, Feb. 3, 2012.

Flores
LaPorte County Metro Operations, in conjunction with the Michigan City Police Department Street Crimes Unit, arrested Anthony Flores, 26, of 605 Fremont St. He is charged with dealing cocaine, a Class A felony.
Flores was taken into custody at his home without incident, according to a press release. The arrest came after a month-long investigation into cocaine dealing in the county.
“This investigation was initiated and coordinated by the county’s Metro Operations Unit and they brought in the resources and manpower necessary to bring this suspect to justice,” Sheriff Mike Mollenhauer said in the press release. “This arrest once again demonstrates that LaPorte County law enforcement has teamed to battle the drug problems that plague LaPorte County.”
LaPorte County Metro Operations is a multi-jurisdictional unit comprised of investigators from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office and LaPorte Police Department. The public is encouraged to report suspected drug activity to the unit at (219) 325-9022.

The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association will again be awarding college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies. Approximately 40 $500 scholarships will be awarded to qualifying students throughout the state.
The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship Fund was established to receive, invest and dispense funds to provide college scholarships to qualified students who are committed to pursuing an education and career in the law enforcement field.
To qualify for one of these scholarships, the applicant must be an Indiana resident, be a current member of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association, attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field, and enroll as a full-time student (12 hours).
Applications needed to apply for the scholarships are available from high school counselors, the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office or by writing to the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association, 147 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46204-3608. Applications must be completed and received by the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association on or before April 1.
