   YMCA plans Spring Break Sports Camp April 5-9

      The LaPorte Family YMCA has started registration for its Spring Break Sports Camp, scheduled for Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, at the YMCA. Parents may register their children during open hours at the front desk.

      The camp, for ages 7-14, runs from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with drop-off from 6-8:30 a.m. and pick-up from 4:30-6 p.m. Activities planned include swimming, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, floor games, wiffleball and more.

      The cost is $80 per child for YMCA members and $115 per child for non-members.

   Jackson Sopkowski wins 3 regional awards

   

   Jackson Sopkowski, a 12-year-old participant in Tae Kwon Do at the LaPorte Family YMCA, recently won three awards at the ATU Regional Championship at Oak Lawn Pavilion in Oak Lawn, IL. Jackson, a High Green Belt, took first place in forms, second place in board breaking and second place in sparring. Jackson attended the tournament with Black Belts Jon Nespa, Diane Rich, Mike Carpenter and Joe Lanning, all students under Jerry and Mary Crosslin at the YMCA. (Click on photo to enlarge)

   Alex Dudek receives YMCA Spirit Award
