Duchess Sarah Ferguson has another cancer diagnosis

British Prince Andrew's ex-wife, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, 64, has another bout with cancer. The Duchess of York has now been diagnosed with skin cancer after being diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer over the summer, her spokesperson told British news agency PA and other media outlets on Sunday evening.

Several moles were removed and examined by her dermatologist during reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy (removal of breast tissue). “One of them was diagnosed with cancer,” the statement said. He is undergoing further tests to ensure that the disease is detected at an early stage. “Of course, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer is devastating, but the Duchess is in good spirits.”

This is the third news of illness among the royal family in a matter of days. Last week it was revealed that Princess Kate will be out for an extended period due to stomach surgery. King Charles III had to be treated in hospital for an enlarged prostate.

Ferguson was previously married to Charles' brother Andrew. At Christmas she unexpectedly attended the royal family's joint service at Sandringham country estate in eastern England.

He wanted to thank the entire medical team, especially his dermatologist, whose vigilance ensured the diagnosis, the PA and other media quoted him as saying. He believes his experience highlights the importance of checking the size, shape, color and texture as well as the appearance of new moles.
