Oppenheimer dominates the Oscars – winning Best Picture and six.

“Oppenheimer” dominated last Sunday's 96th Academy Awards, winning seven major awards, including best picture. It marked the culmination of a stellar awards season and ended director Christopher Nolan's long wait for an Oscar nod.

Nolan won his first Oscar for Best Director, while lead actor Cillian Murphy won Best Actor. Robert Downey Jr. won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the biopic. The film also won awards in the cinematography, original music and editing categories.

Emma Stone won best actress for her lead role in the comedy “Poor Things,” which also won three other awards in the technical categories. Davi's Joy Randolph won for best supporting actress for her portrayal of a cafeteria manager and grieving mother in “The Holdovers.”

In his acceptance speech, Murphy emphasized the importance of the film depicting the life of the man who created the atomic bomb. He insisted that we all live in Oppenheimer's world and dedicated the film's success to peacemakers around the world.

After “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” in 2004, Oppenheimer's worldwide box office gross was $957 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.
