Scherak tops the NEOS state list

Politics

Nicholas Sherak will again lead the NEOS state list in the National Council elections in the fall. The deputy club leader in the federal government won the party's primary and now wants to advocate for more freedom, progress and justice.

According to a NEOS broadcast, Nicholas Sherak was confirmed as the first-in-list by the NEOS members after a three-stage pre-election process. The issue of relief is very important for Sherak, who topped the state list in 2019: “We must finally free the people, not burden them further. It's the only way they can build something back on their own.

The 37-year-old has a clear vision for the coming months: “There is a lot at stake in the upcoming elections, because people's trust in politics is increasingly affected. We want to move NEOS Austria forward and have the necessary energy to push forward essential reforms and protect people's fundamental rights and freedoms.

“Nothing Changes Without Us”

Together with NEOS top candidate and party leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Scherck wants to fight for a strong result for her party. According to Meinl-Reisinger, Neos “urgently” needed important reforms: “Nothing will change without us!

Meinl-Reisinger firmly believes that the next federal government needs a force that can address precisely these issues. National councilor Martina Gunsberg in Surrey, local councilor Gertrud Eynger Obersacher in Baden and national councilor Douglas Hoyos-Trudmannsdorf are behind Sherak on the state list.

State party president Indira Kolini is happy about the diversity in the state list: “We have a good mix of experienced personalities and fresh, new faces. “Congratulations to all those who stood in the election,” he said.
